What is SAAC?

SAAC is an NCAA sanctioned group of student-athlete representatives who are the voice of the student-athletes. It is all student-athletes who wish to make a difference at OSU, Big 12 and at the NCAA level – any athlete is a member! It focuses on improving the student-athlete experience.

It takes all of us... No issue is too big or too small.

 

Leadership Roles

• President: Over the entire executive committee and SAAC and provides leadership and oversight to SAAC initiatives. Organizes the agenda, coordinates, and presides over meetings.
• Vice President: Responsible for maintaining an accurate record of representatives and promoting membership. In the absence of the President, will carry out those duties.
• Secretary: Takes minutes each meeting and forwards them to all athletics and student-athletes. Takes attendance sheet and accounts for attendance at all meetings. Confirms meeting agenda with President and is responsible for getting reminders out to student-athletes
• Treasurer: Maintains an accurate account of all finances in the SAAC account. Pays bills and organizes receipts.
• Social Chair: Creates content and posts for all SAAC social media accounts.
• Community Service: Acts as the point person and leads all community outreach initiatives. Works closely with OBGB Coordinator to track and gain clearance for service projects.
• Big 12 SAAC Reps: Represents OSU at all Big 12 in-person meetings and attends all Big 12 phone calls. Presents information from Big 12 to OSU SAAC. Sends OSU legislative voting positions and information to Big 12, as necessary.
• Division I SAAC Rep: One representative from a member institution is selected by the Big 12 to represent all student-athletes at that conference.

What is ACT?

Athletes Coming Together (ACT) is an additional branch of SAAC that emphasizes community, togetherness and cultural education. It provides a safe, unifying space for athletes to commune, learn and grow together.
